Dear Cathy and Sandy, We thought of the many family seders with you and knew that you were surrounded with your loved ones again this year. Sid and I send our love and healing wishes daily to you. Love, your extended family.
Hugs and kisses
Cathy, Sandy, and the Rosen clan, Just wanted to say how much I love you all. I am thinking of you often and sending every good thought and feeling your way. Cathy — I’ve been thinking a lot about that picture of you taking me for that first swim with me in diapers. Can’t imagine a better person to plunge into the waters with. You are an amazing person who has created an...
Dear Cathy and Sandy, Thinking of you especially this evening, remembering with great fondness all the Passover Seders we have spent with you over the past few years. God bless you. The Chidyausiku Family
HI CATHY AND SANDY and FAMILY!
I think of you all so often and send you my prayers and love. Although your journey is your own, having been through chemo and radiation and breast cancer in the last year, I can understand the highs and lows of the experience and allowing myself to feel the outpouring of love that comes to you constantly from friends and family. We are ALL holding your hand all the time - even though your...
I just read Melissa’s post and thought it very encouraging. I know you have told me all this, but there is something reassuring hearing it from the doctor in the family. Cathy fully deserves all the support and love she is getting, but that does not take away from the fact that you and the children have been extraordinary. Bless you all. I am anxious to be there next week. I know this...
Update Sunday, March 28th
Cathy is improving slowly, but surely. We have better control of her pain and nausea, which helps her have an appetite. She is working to improve her strength by walking in the house, down the stairs and now up the stairs for her trips out of the house for radiation therapy. Today, she took breakfast downstairs in the dining room for the first time since the onset of her pneumonia, and ventured...
Love and Hopes for the Best
Dear Cathy and Sandy, We have been thinking of you, especially in the last few days, and want you to know how much we hope for the best. Also, Sandy, if it would work for Bob to stop by to say hello during the middle of the day next Tuesday or Thrusday, please let us know. Lots of love, Bob and Laura
Dear Cathy, keeping you in our thoughts, I always thought of you as one of the “Good Guys” , be strong, Kevin & Joe
We lit candles all over the house Sunday nite and wished you well on all of them. Think of you both every day and send love, hope and delicious memories your way. Sue Colten
Cathy, I could not help but giggle as I read about your new car and had visions of Jean standing beside you, eyes twinkling and smiling so broadly; Mimi, figuring out who she would call first; and Andree stating: “Mais, c’est une follie!”. Hope you have a picture next to your bed so you can see yourself curzin’, babe. You go girl! xoxox jacqueline

Last night Bernie and I, together with our old friends Sid Wolinsky and Pat Kirkpatrick, ate dinner with Sandy. Bernie made Salmon a la Shimon (family recipe) and afterwards we visited with Cathy and watched President Obama’s speech following the historic health care reform victory. Though Cathy is weak, her beautiful voice is still strong and sweet. Sandy also showed us the gorgeous...

From the three of us in Minnesota
We are lighting a candle for Cathy every Sunday, which is a lovely way to connect in. Thank you so much for asking for this. Much love to all of you. Denise, Ken and Ari
Our candle burns bright for you!
Cathy, The highlight of the week for us is when we sit down together on Sunday evening and light a candle for you. Our baby Tessa is 3.5 months, and she is mesmerized by the light. She coos and squawks and smiles at the flame. We are doing the same (although less vocally) and we send you our best energy and love. —Katherine Emery, Dan and Tessa Kane
With love and encouragement
Dear Cathy, I am happy to hear that you are fairing well in the course of what can only be described as a brutal treatment for a brutal disease. Your resilience I attribute to the love you have shared with family, friends, colleagues and acquaintences for all the years of your life. So many times when the trials of life have caused me to dispair, I have looked at your example of grace in the...
